RISC TOUR 2 |
Performing a Search of the RISC Database |
The Clear Form button that you just clicked is used to blank out the form. It's a "clever" button with a few different uses. When clicked just once, it allows the staff member to save similar records for multiple students very quickly, but when clicked three times, it completely wipes the form. With a blank form, it is possible to search the contacts database using single or multiple criteria. For example, you could search for all contacts involving homework awards provided to year 8 students. Or you could find all contacts entered by a specific staff member, or all contacts involving one particular student. In the above example, we will find all contact records that belong to anyone with a surname starting with "brown". This will, in this case, give us a list of all contact records associated with our friend, Phillip Brown. When the user has set all criteria for a search, the Search Using Selected Field(s) button is clicked. Notice that searches are not case-sensitive. |
