The Form Letters Menu in RISC

This menu has only three options - Select a Form Letter, Create/Modify a Form Letter and the RISC MailMerge Wizard. The first two of these options have been covered already in this Virtual Tour.  The first allows you to choose an existing form letter to merge RISC data into for printing.  The second option allows you to create a new form letter mask or modify an existing one. The Create/Modify option is password protected to ensure form letter templates are not fiddled with.

The RISC MailMerge Wizard builds on the RISC Form Letters Module by allowing you to take any existing form letter mask/template that has already been created and having it automatically print individual copies of that form letter for groups of students.  For example, perhaps you've constructed a certificate you'd like to print off for all Kindergarten students.  The certificate contains fancy borders and clipart and is personalised for each student.  The MailMerge Wizard will print these for you in seconds. Or perhaps all of the girls in Grade 6 might be going on an excursion and you'd like to print personalised Excursion permission notes.  You would firstly create a form letter mask incorporating the necessary data fields from RISC, then you would run the RISC MailMerge Wizard.
