RISC v9 - The Student Alerts Window - Levels (3 of 8)

NEXT

The Levels tab in the RISC Student Alerts window is a little more detailed than the other two tabs. It is used to automatically calculate the total of all levels values attached to the latest 25 records saved against a student. This will give the staff member reviewing a student a very good indication of their behaviour, achievements and attitude to school. Firstly, take a look at the Current Level value shown above the Marillion Designs logo. Rebecca currently has a total current level of +10. In general, this student is behaving positively at school. Now if you look at the RISC Quick History, you can see that there are three 'green' (positive) entries and two (negative) 'red' ones. But each of those Incident Types have their own levels value attached, as explained earlier in this RISC Virtual Tour, and it is the sum of all of those values that is calculated here.

But if you look closely, you'll see that the three Positive levels tally up to +30, while the two Negative levels have tallied to -40, which SHOULD have given an overall Current Level of -10, not +10.  The reason for the positive 10 total is because one of the school executive have placed a manual adjustment to Rebecca's level. They have granted her a +20 value adjustment and entered the reason for the adjustment as seen above.  With the settings in RISC Preferences for Vandalism/Damage having an automatic value of -30, it was determined that the act was a minor indiscretion (record no. 1507) and did not deserve the full -30 level in this case. Let's find out what RISC contact record 1507 was all about.
