RISC TOUR 7 - WHAT's NEW in RISC v9?
RISC v9 - The Student Alerts Window - Alerts (1 of 8) |
While the RISC program is a database of separate incidents (good and bad), relating to individual students at your school, it now also provides your staff with easy to access general information about each student, which displays automatically whenever a student's record is selected in RISC. Three tabs of information are shown in the RISC Student Alerts window - the first two can be renamed as per the RISC Preferences screen shown earlier in RISC Virtual Tour 7, and the third tab is detailed Student Levels information. On the above screen, you should take note of: (1) The three tabs of information (2) the student's Current Level and (3) the RISC Quick History. These three sections of RISC provide a wealth of useful information about each student, making the important task of effectively and appropriately dealing with individual students much easier. For example, in the Alerts tab above, we can quickly see that Rebecca has an Anaphylaxis - critical for managing her health and well-being. Her parents are separated, meaning parental contact may be an issue and that she is away from school on Mondays due to a Netball competition she is participating in. We also see that she will not be going to the Canberra excursion, so alternative in-school activities will be needed to be provided for her. The Alerts tab contains those critical "need-to-know-right-now" snippets of information about each student. The option at the bottom to Save Changes to RISC Alerts can only be performed by RISC Executives and RISC Administrators. Normal RISC Editors cannot alter an of the information in the RISC Student Alert tabs, this will keep the information accurate and untampered with. A maximum of 2000 characters can be stored on each tab and the Alerts window can be moved or closed as desired. |
