How to look through All RISC Records

NEXT

This looks like a blank RISC form, but if you look closely at the top-right, in the Contact Number (Contact No.) field, there is an asterisk (*).  You can tell RISC you want to work with ALL contact records by typing an asterisk into this field then pressing the Search Using Selected Fields button.

But the asterisk can have two separate meanings.  You can display EVERY record in the database, OR you can display EVERY record in the database between two specified dates.  In the Options menu above is an option called Set Date Range for Reports/Queries.  We'll take a closer look at this later, but basically, you can use this option to produce a weekly report for Year Advisers.  Set the date range to start from the Monday to the Friday of the past week and then search the database for every record that was saved last week (*).  Or, look for the records of Year 7 students only from last week to pass on to the Year 7 Adviser.

Let's see what happens if you search for ALL records.

To continue this tour, please click the Search Using Selected Fields button above
(it's at the bottom-middle of the form)
